Vera Brosgol dark and quirky short, Snow-bo, is a tale of rejection and childhood myths. Remember when your mother would threaten that if you wandered away too far, hobos would snatch you up and spirit you away to their hobo camps? You do remember? Man, your mom was messed up.
Vera was born in Moscow, Russia and moved to the United States when she was five in what I imagine was a tale of espionage involving Gregory Hines and Mikhail Baryshnikov. She graduated from Sheridan College where Snow-bo was a third-year project she completed with her pal Jenn Kluska. Her first graphic novel, Anya’s Ghost, was just barely published and she’s currently doing book signings in the Portland, OR area.
